Guidelines

Stories and Artwork:

  1. Content - Stories and artwork must have Transformation in it, and should preferably be of an adult nature. We will NOT accept anything that was not written or drawn by you; you must have created it to submit it, it must be your own handiwork or have been commissioned by you. If you're photomanipulating a picture, PLEASE AVOID using copywritten materials. We can get in trouble for altering someone else's photos or artwork.
  2. Age - Any ages can be subject to a transformation story or art. The subject of the Transformation can be of any age. HOWEVER, if there is ANY sexual content, adult situation, or nudity, the charactors involved MUST be over the age of consent, which is sixteen (16) for this website.
  3. Quality - We strive for a reasonable level of readability and quality. For stories, we have several resources to offer, including our "Grammar Notes" page, and several forums dedicated to assisting you with spelling typos and grammar usage. For art, we offer lots of feedback from the forums. We'd prefer images be inked or colored, or well-drawn pencils. Please, we'd like to avoid sketches and other "unfinished" artwork, as well as short, plotless, and fragment "stories".

What we WANT to see:
Stories: Well-thought-out, highly-detailed and descriptive Transformation scenes. Erotic, adult-oriented material. Originality. Good plot. Good grammar and spelling. Decent story length.
Art: Well-thought-out, highly-detailed and descriptive Transformation scenes. Erotic, adult-oriented material. Originality. Good coloring technique, shading, use of light. Artwork series showing cause, process, and completion of transformation.

What we DISCOURAGE:
Stories: "Poof" Transformations. "Cookie Cutter" stories. Unoriginal, un-imaginitive works. Stories without Plot or Storyline. Poore Grammer or Speling. Fansubs are generally frowned upon, unless the story is good (see Toolman19's "Battle of Wutai Cliffs" for an example of a good fansub).
Art: Unoriginal, un-imaginitive works. Furry artwork with no transformation. Sketches or other "uncomplete" works.

What we DON'T WANT to see:
Stories: Fragments of stories. Ultra-Short stories. Underage sexual content. Illegible or incomprehensible stories. Unfinished, rough work.
Art: Unfinished, rough work. Underage sexual content.

We try to judge stories and art on a case-by-case basis, with our aim towards objectivity. If you wish to polish your work, we can help. We have plenty of tools: a Grammar Notes page, and several enthusiastic writers who keep an eye on the Forums who can assist you in refining your story. For artwork, you can gather lots of feedback and new ideas from the forums as well. Some of our forum-goers are also artists, and can offer ideas on how to improve your artwork.

There are two ways to submit your story or art.

Submit through the Forum

  1. Stories: Post your story in the Story Submission Forum

Images: Artwork can be posted in our Art Submission Forum and may be either attached to the Forum itself or linked to the website you're hosting the image from.

  2. Posting instructions are given on the Forum under the topic "Submission Guidelines." Please refer to that post for instructions. Any questions can also be posted under that topic or emailed to me.
  3. Once the story or art has "stewed" for a bit to let everyone give feedback or offer their two cents (usually from about two weeks to a month), the submission will either be accepted for entry into the Lab, or will be held so that you may revise it. Please remember, you don't have to accept the opinions expressed on the forums, nor are you required to let someone else correct your story for grammar and spelling. These are just tools we've put at your disposal, you have the option of using them or not using them at your convinience.

This route is an excellent source of feedback and lets you really get a feel for what the audience is looking for. It's an excellent resource for fine tuning your story or image.

Submit through E-mail

  1. Email your story to me at "DocsLab@Yahoo.com"
  2. Stories: I can open Word Document (.doc) attachments and Rich-Text files (.rtf files) or you can simply copy and paste your story into the email message itself. PLEASE do not send .txt files, email removes all formatting and makes them VERY hard to read.

Images: I accept .jpg and .gif attachments. PLEASE do not send .bmp files. Bitmaps are huge.

  3. I will read your story or look at your artwork and decide if it meets our guidelines. If it does, I will add it to the Lab at the next update. I will not proofread or alter anything.

This route is good for people who are confident in their artistic skills, and wish to shortcut the Forum's waiting period.

And lastly, you retain all rights to your work. Please only submit work that is your own. If you'd like your work removed, simply email me and I'll take care of it. If you decide to have anything removed, I would like to know your reason behind it.
